Why Navora?

Malaysian drivers have been switching between two or three apps to get what they need: Waze for reports, a second app for AES cameras, a third for toll rates. Navora puts all of it in one app, in your language, with nothing tracking you.

Navora matches Waze on the features drivers miss most and beats every option on language, privacy and Malaysian data. The one honest gap is CarPlay / Android Auto, coming in the native version.

Install in 10 seconds

Open navora.my in Chrome (Android) or Safari (iPhone).
Android: tap the ⋮ menu → Add to Home screen (or the "Install app" banner).
iPhone: tap the Share button ⬆️ → Add to Home Screen.
Open Navora from your home screen. Tap Allow when it asks for your location. Nothing else is requested.

Navora now opens full-screen like a normal app, works on both Android and iPhone, and updates itself — no app store, no downloads.

Your first trip

Tap Where to? and type a place, or tap a quick chip: 🏠 Home · 💼 Work · ★ saved · 🕘 recent.
Navora shows up to three routes with time, distance, traffic delay, 🎫 toll or toll-free, and any alerts on the way. Tap a route pill to switch.
Use the tools on the route card:
- ⛽ petrol · 🅿️ R&R · 🔌 EV charger · 🍜 food · 🕌 surau · 🚻 toilets — along your route, with detour minutes. Tap ➜ Go to drive there or ➕ Add stop to include it (up to 5 stops).
- 🕒 Plan departure — pick a time and see the ETA with predicted traffic.
- ☆ Save the place as Home, Work or favourite.
- 🅿️ Parking near your destination.
- 📤 Share ETA to WhatsApp or anyone.
- Avoid tolls toggle — re-routes instantly.
Tap GO. Voice guidance starts, the map follows you, and the banner shows the next turn, the one after, distance, remaining time and ETA. A speedometer shows your speed.
While you drive, Navora re-checks every 2 minutes and says "Faster route found, saving 6 minutes. Switching." Camera warnings appear 600 m ahead. New accidents or closures on your route are spoken. Near your destination it offers parking.
Tap End to stop. Use 2D / 3D to tilt the map and 🔊 to mute.

"Hello Navora" — hands-free voice

Turn on Menu ☰ → Settings → "Hello Navora" wake word once and allow the microphone. A small "👂 Hello Navora" pill shows it is listening. On iPhone, tap the 🎙 button instead (iOS does not allow background listening in web apps).

Navora always reads back the place it found and waits for "Go" before starting — a mishear never sends you to the wrong place.

Report for the community

Tap the orange ⚠ button (or say "Hello Navora, report jam"). One tap for:

Reports are anonymous — a random device ID, no personal data.
Reports within 400 m merge into one; they show to everyone once two drivers confirm. Regular accurate reporters become trusted and show instantly.
Two "Clear now" votes retire a report. Cameras stay 14 days, potholes 7 days, jams 45 minutes.

Fuel prices, trip cost and tolls

The menu shows this week's official fuel prices (RON95, RON97, diesel) with the weekly change, straight from data.gov.my. Every route shows the estimated fuel cost for your car (set fuel type and consumption in Settings), the toll kilometres, and a toll-free alternative when one exists.

Privacy — what leaves your phone

No account, no sign-in, no phone number.
Your GPS position stays on your phone. It is sent only to TomTom to calculate routes and search — never stored by Navora.
Reports are anonymous. Your location is shared only when you tap a report button.
Saved places (Home, Work, favourites, recents) are stored only on your device.
No advertising trackers, no analytics SDKs, no data sold to anyone.
Data sources: TomTom (maps, traffic), MET Malaysia (weather), OpenStreetMap (cameras), public highway and police feeds.

FAQ

Is Navora free?

Yes. Navigation, alerts, voice and reporting are free. A Pro tier with extras may come later; the core app stays free.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes — add it to your home screen from Safari. Everything works; the only difference is that "Hello Navora" background listening is Android-only, so iPhone uses the 🎙 tap-to-talk button.

Why is the map blank?

Check your internet connection and that location is allowed. Open navora.my/check.html — it tests every service and tells you exactly what is wrong.

How accurate is the traffic?

Traffic colours and ETAs come from TomTom's live traffic (the same data used by many car manufacturers), updated every two minutes. Incidents are refreshed every 60 seconds and cross-checked against news and highway feeds.

Where do the speed camera locations come from?

OpenStreetMap's public camera database plus reports from Navora drivers. If a camera is missing, report it with 📷 and it appears for everyone after confirmation.

Does Navora replace Waze completely?

For daily driving in Malaysia, yes: all roads, live traffic, reports, cameras, voice. The one thing missing today is CarPlay / Android Auto, which the native version will add.

Will it drain my battery?

About the same as any navigation app while navigating. The wake word uses the microphone only while the app is open; turn it off in Settings if you do not need it.

How do I update?

You don't need to — Navora updates itself every time you open it.
